Geoff,

Congratulations on the sale.

I guess I'm going to need alot of that luck and perhaps an offer from a new entrant to the australian market who would battle the big 3 job boards.

Hi Paul
Unable to disclose the domain name or company. But had to do with cars.

This company approached me after their advertising agency suggested this was the best name for them. They discovered it was taken so then the fun and games started...

Domains are usually benchmarked against .coms. Australia is about 1/10th of the value. Yours would not value that well unless someone really wanted to buy it.

Mine was luck :-)

Hi Geoff,

If you dont mind me asking, what was the domain name you sold for $120,000 ?

Did you sell it online using sedo (or something similar)?

How much you reckon a domain name like www.JobSearchAustralia.com.au can fetch for?

I reported back in April that Careerone.asia had gone to a logistics company in Melbourne.

I have had another look at the Dot Asia Whois and it has been transferred to News Limited.

Wonder if any dollars changed hands or they flexed their big muscles and said that's mine thank you??

Thanks Thomas.

There are good dollars to made in selling top level domains including some more industry related like above.

I recently sold a domain name for $120k locally, so contrary to what people think Australia is a buoyant market and not just 1/10th of the US domain name resale value.

You might be right there.

Their lack of interest might also mean they are looking at a name change??

Maybe MyCareer thought rather than spend money they would just assert their trademark over the domain name and commandere it.
