MyCareer definitely wins the technology race in Australia.

SEEK is still on platform 1.0, and CareerOne is going for their 6th or 7th platform in 10 years (spot the problem?).

MyCareer has also struck the right delecate balance between simple usability and the number of useful features

So what?

All this proves is while you might win at product and technology, these are not the ingredients that make you win the actual job board race.

Just ask JobX.

I agree with Brett. Still MyCareer is the best job board in the Australian market. As you said, due the current Economic Condition, you might be facing this type of situation. Sooner or later, Mycareer is going to be the best, i believe.

That's a very interesting graph that unexpectedly shows the average Australian wage went up 25% in 2008 to $94K.

The graph is derived from salaries posted in MyCareer's job ads and clearly shows a change in mix for MyCareer's ads rather than actual Australian salaries which obviously didn't go up by 25% last year.

The graph clearly shows over the course of 2008 the higher paying (recruitment agency?) jobs making up a growing market share of MyCareer's ads.

At the same time the number of ads has gone from around 50,000 to around 30,000. The graph shows that the lower paying jobs on MyCareer that come from print, SME's or blue collar have simply vanished.

in terms of usability and technology I still think MyCareer is the best job board in the Australian market.
I am sure some of the things you mention are simply a case of them adjusting to the new arrangements.
